I know what it’s like to be an entrepreneur so I feel well and truly qualified to offer advice to others.

 

I started my own oil broking business at the age of 31, just me and a friend, after having worked for Esso and Elf oil companies. This business has had its ups and downs but has lasted over 40 years working in the oil industry, brokering deals, consulting on processing, storage, transportation, purchase and sales, refining and marketing.

At the same time I managed the development of an integrated family business related to the feeding of babies and toddlers which is now a multi million pound brand. There were loads of board meetings over supper; lots of baby purees turned into soups to keep me going….
